Beef and Pork for Japanese Shabu Shabu and Yakiniku in Singapore

Yearning for melt-in-the-mouth grilled beef or pork cooked in a simmering broth? The shabu shabu hotpot or yakiniku grilled meat are some of the main dishes that one might think about when it comes to Japanese cuisine. Both utilising thin slices of pork or beef, these bite-sized meats will sizzle or boil in seconds. The best thing about these Japanese dishes is that you can customise them to cater to your own taste and preferences. However, one thing that can never be compromised, is the quality of the meat used. Be it Wagyu beef yakiniku or pork shabu shabu, you’ll want the meats used to be of premium grade, and sourced fresh straight from the farms so that you have a pleasant eating experience. This is where Mmmm! Singapore comes in!

How To Make Shabu Shabu or Yakiniku

"Shabu shabu" means "swish swish", referring to the gentle swishing of the meat in the boiling soup. Shabu shabu pork or beef at Mmmm! are so finely sliced that additional fat melts away when the meat is dunked in your favourite hot broth, making it lighter than ordinary cooked meat.

In Japan, BBQ is commonly known as yakiniku. Not requiring any pre-seasoning, this cooking method emphasises on bringing out the meat's natural flavour. As such, you’ll want your yakiniku beef or pork to be of good quality so that its texture and flavour are top-notch. After the meat has been grilled, further seasoning is typically as simple as a pinch of salt, a squeeze of lemon, or a dipping sauce.
